Art Attack Saturday – Home Decor Piece

I just love Arts & Crafts and I cannot even imagine how much I miss art school! 🎨😍 However, some Saturdays I still manage to find time to paint or make something! πŸ’—

This is my todays creation of beatiful home decor piece that is really easy and unexpensive to make!

Here, is what you need:
– some wood roots (plus stain or acrylic paint and brushes to color wood),
– large clear vase (gold leaf or glass paint, if you wish to decorate it),
– some seashells or pebbles,
– butterflies and crystals (whatever you wish to decorate your branches with),
– glue gun and glue.

To start, you need is to collect some wood roots or branches, then wash and dry them well and prepare to paint! 😜

Once you got these ready, you can decide to paint or stain them (I stainned mine in dark wood, as I already had some stain and I wanted to decorate them with white and gold butterflies). πŸ’› However, you can also choose to paint your roots white and decorate them in red or blue or whatever works in your home!

Next you need to prepare a large clear vase! I decided to gold-leaf mine on the edges (to match the butterflies). However, gold-leafing is not an easy procedure, so if you have never done it, use glass paint with dry brush or leave your vase simply as it is! 😘

Try your branches composition first, then empty the vase and add some stones, seashells or pebbles to the bottom! Just use whatever you can find, as long as it matches in colour and it’s made by nature!

Last but not least start gluing your branches decorations! I used white and gold butterflies and swarowski crystals (you can use beards, birds or whatever you like most)!πŸ’ŽπŸ’πŸ’›

That’s how it ended up looking! Hope you like it πŸ’›πŸ’Ž I like it so much, that it’s part of My room decor! Let me know how yours turns out! 😍 Have fun! πŸ’‹
