First day of spring is here, yeah!!! πππ So, I thought it was a perfect occasion to post my Russian Inspired Winter Snow Editorial πππ supported by one of my favorite poems by Feodor Tyutchev (I just love how he depicted the nature).. πππ
We actually shot this in Toronto with my sister (yes, we still play dress up and shoot editorials together) πππ..
Iddie Fourka made this beautiful Russian-Ukrainian crown inspired headpiece πππ and we wanted to style something bright, fashionable with etnic-folk feel, that would contrast with the snow, but would also be wearable and definately not a costume!!
Inspired by the Slavic Princesses ( Π ΡΡΡΠΊΠΈΠ΅ ΠΡΠ°ΡΠ°Π²ΠΈΡΡ) we needed a bright long dress, that would recall Russian Sarafan! The long orange parsley patterned Ralph Lauren dress was perfect! π We added a white long faux fur and suede winter coat, bead decorated cashmere gloves and pair of flat winter boots with high orange socks! π
The effect was bright and beautiful, but most of all well balanced! We added final touches like a little native small suede purse and a furry animal key chain!Β Iddie styled my hair and I did my own makeup in natural tones with pink cheeks and cranberry lip! ππ
I felt like a real Old County Princess lost in the forest! I actually fell off the tree during the photoshoot (that is why my socks are covered in snow)! πππ And it was soo cold that our noses were so red (I had to constantly re-touch the makeup) and our hands frozen, but we had soo much fun and the results turned out pretty dreamy don’t you think?!
I love our collaborations with Iddie, because we really inspire each other and I am very proud of my talented sister and best friend! π
Thanks for being so great and shooting me! π
Here is the preview of her look that we shot that day ππ but that will be on the next post! ππ
